We were thrilled when YouTube user KiwiDude7 uploaded his own tribute version of the Blood of TigerCat anthem “My Mom’s On Facebook” within a week of the song being released.  We knew his impassioned dedication would be a tough act to follow, but we eagerly awaited more worthy challengers.  However, that was it — no additional tributes surfaced.  How could that be, we wondered.  Had KiwiDude7 simply set the bar too high?

Before long, however, we received an e-mail from a fan in the Czech Republic who alerted us to what may have been the root cause of the dismal dearth of dedications:

First I want to apologize for my English. At primary school we had only authorized German, so I used Google Translate.
Gentlemens, you are amazing! Your video “My mom’s on facebook” can’t I stop watching! I also have a band (amateur, we are first-year students of secondary school) and we would like to at least try to play this song! Unfortunately, I did not catch at childbirth an ear for music, which slipped just before me, so I would like to ask the tabs for this song. Fully understand if you refuse, it’s your song, but it is simply amazing! Thanks for any reply:)

No wonder we hadn’t seen any new tributes — people didn’t know the chords!  Not everyone catches at childbirth an ear for music.  In the case of someone like Brett, it slipped just before him.  (Dan, meanwhile, barely even speaks English, having had only authorized German at his primary school).
