Director's commentary

Dan: I wrote this short to be a very sweet, romance piece. What I envisioned would have had a similar construction to what you just watched, only different content: Girl walks up to guy, they have a nice conversation and walk off together; then we snap to reality and learn the guy was just dreaming. Everything changed when we assembled to shoot. a dog pooped about one foot away from where we were shooting. It was a big poop. It was a fresh poop. It was a smelly poop. The poop made me furious, and the result was this angry performance from me. Stench burning my nostrils, thoughts clouded, I changed the words. I think for the better.

Brett: This was a tough shoot.  Mostly because a bee attacked me.

Dan: it's true.  no one came to his rescue.
